major damesWiley will publish the memoir MATRIX INTELLIGENCE: Remote Viewing Cases from the World’s Premier Psychic Spy by Major Ed Dames in November 2010. A decorated military intelligence officer and former member of the controversial NSA-ARMY-sponsored Psychic Espionage Unit, Dames is the country’s foremost proponent of the psychic practice known as “remote viewing” -- an intelligence gathering technique whose practitioners can see events from a distance anywhere in time and space.

MATRIX INTELLIGENCE will take readers behind the scenes of Dames’ most fascinating and offbeat cases applying his unique detective skills to the most baffling military Black Ops in modern times, as well as tackling mysteries so unusual and gruesome, they could be ripped from the darkest recesses of our imaginations. MATRIX INTELLIGENCE will also explore the often traumatic past that helped shape his life, a life that led a self-described wild child from the backwoods of New Jersey into the company of presidents, princes and movie stars.

MATRIX INTELLIGENCE is co-authored by Joel Harry Newman, a former staff reporter/editor for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and Adweek magazine and freelance contributor to such publications as the Los Angeles Times Magazine, Details, PDN, and The Hollywood Reporter. His screenwork includes story editor on such hit motion pictures as “John Carpenter's Vampires” “Arachnophobia” and “Hollowman.”

Baltimore Sun Finds First Earth Battalion Roots in Their Own Backyard. PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 02 November 2009

The Baltimore Sun posted an article about "The Men Who Stare at Goats" mentioning the role Maryland played in the events that inspired the movie. The article is titled "Battle satire 'Men Who Stare at Goats' has a Maryland link.  It's strange but true. Maryland played a role in the events that inspired the military satire 'Men Who Stare at Goats' " - Baltimore Sun, Micheal Sragow.

The Baltimore Sun writer Micheal Sragow explains to his readers how many of the exploits filmmakers ascribe to Channon's Troops actually happened at Fort Mead Maryland just a few miles from Baltimore. There was also a phone interview commentary  with Jim Channon about the First Earth Battalion and his view on the impact of the movie.

It seems in the interview Micheal received a glimpse past the movie errors into the real world of a Warrior Monk.

"believes that he saved lives in Vietnam by relying on hunter's skills that could be considered psychic. And he feels ESP is "necessary" for American successs in contemporary conflicts. "The secret of modern warfare is, don't get into danger zones. You can't do that without extended awareness."

So in the end, the entertaining farrago of make-believe and scrambled history in "The Men Who Stare At Goats" doesn't faze Channon. He compares his collision with Hollywood to "a 'meeting engagement.' That's when two armies bump into each other and make a mess. The ones that are quickest on their feet win. I've been quick in this case. So far it has been an amazingly successful engagement."

Spoken like an honest-to-God, flesh-and-blood Jedi warrior."

Jim Channon Slated as Guest on Coast to Coast AM with George Knapp

Jim Channon is the scheduled guest for Sunday, October 25, 2009 on Coast to Coast AM.  George Knapp will be hosting.  (A listing of affliates and times can be found on the Coast to Coast AM website.)

Jim Channon is the Commander of the First Earth Battalion, which is mirrored darkly in the comedy "The Men Who Stare at Goats", set to open November 6. 2009. The Commander is also an Enviromental Steward, Social Architect and Global Shaman, ready to discuss with George Knapp the 12 breakthroughs of the next decade that will guide our planet toward a brighter future, as well as how to build Global Social Intelligence.

12 Breakthroughs of the Next Decade

Jim Channon expressed his ideas and ideals for a new army of soldiers in "Evolutionary Tactics", published by the Army in 1978.  This field manual expresses the warrior monk archtype through illustrations of advanced human performance skills.  "The goal is to create combatants with a more advanced understanding of threats, allow for peaceful incursions into dangerous areas, and to spare the lives of soldiers and civilians ."  These warrior monks would be dedicated, first and foremost, to people and planet. The manual has been made available in a downloadable format, as the orginal hard copies have become a rare find.

The First Earth Battalion has "acted like a think-tank" with dozens of volunteer military thinkers actively involved in advancing human performance solutions for soldiers planet-wide. In 2008 Jim Channon confirmed four missions of the proto-mythical FEB. He stressed that the "main reason the unit exists is to profess the positive visions for the future for Armed Forces of the Planet and those independent global members who aspire to the warrior monk archetype."  He reviewed the following mission elements:  Be all you can be; create a paradise on planet Earth; recover the biosphere; and global public unity.

We look forward to speaking with those that "dare to think the unthinkable, the awakened warriors, and you evolutionary scouts."

PRESS RELEASE: For Immediate Release

New Earth Army.com Offers True Story Behind George Clooney’s New Film, ‘The Men Who Stare at Goats’
Actor and movie producer George Clooney’s latest film, The Men Who Stare at Goats, opens in theaters November 6. The dark comedy, distributed by Overture, spins a far-fetched tale about military experiments with remote viewing, psychedelics, staring at goats and psychic soldiers. “More of this is truer than you imagine” the filmmakers say.
In 2006, British journalist and political satirist Jon Ronson wrote the international bestseller that provides the title and back-story to the film. Ronson’s tongue-in-cheek account is classified as a work of ‘non-fiction,’ but it is so loaded with speculation and inaccuracy, it sets the stage for much of the confusion.
The story and film focus heavily on the actual life work of (retired) U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Jim Channon. (Actor Jeff Bridges humorously portrays the flamboyant and charismatic Channon in his role as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Django.)
Channon was a real combat commander in Vietnam who sought ways to make war dramatically less violent. Inspired by the ideas of advanced human performance and the human potential movement, he conceived of a new prototypical military force called ‘The First Earth Battalion.’ Using his skill as a strategic visionary artist, he introduced these breakthrough ideas in an illustrated 150-page field manual entitled Evolutionary Tactics published by the U.S. Army in 1978.
“The manual was designed to have the look and feel of the ‘Whole Earth Catalogue’ which was popular at that time. It kick started a creativity movement in the army,” says Channon. “Post Vietnam was a time when the army needed a good dose of out-of-the-box thinking. Evolutionary Tactics and the First Earth Battalion were tools designed to help leaders imagine and develop extra-sensory modes of operation and more humane ways to approach warfare.”

Channon believes that paranormal sensibilities possessed by soldiers can increase survival rates on the modern and very complex battlefield. “The goal is to create combatants with a more advanced understanding of threats, allow for peaceful incursions into dangerous areas, and spare the lives of soldiers and civilians alike, “ he explains.
Channon’s vision for the militaries of the world is far-reaching and it includes the idea that they work in concert to address the environmental stresses on the planet in a program he calls ‘Operation Noble Steward.’

“We had a Marshall plan after WWII designed to rebuild Europe and Japan, and today we need something along these lines to recover the Earth’s biosphere,” says Channon. “I have been in the classroom with the future generals of the planet from eleven nations discussing just such a global operation.”

NewEarthArmy.com contains the complete story of the First Earth Battalion with a detailed scope and history of Channon’s work. The site also offers a downloadable version of Evolutionary Tactics and a collection of First Earth Battalion and New Earth Army gear.

Men Who Stare at Goats 2009

bwgoatjim.jpgThe Men Who Stare at Goats is a major motion picture opening in theaters November 6. The comedy stars four of the brightest actors in Hollywood today – George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor and Kevin Spacey. Jim Channon's First Earth Battalion was the inspiration for much of this film.

A reporter, trying to lose himself in the romance of war after his marriage fails, gets more than he bargains for when he meets a special forces agent who reveals the existence of a secret, psychic military unit whose goal is to end war as we know it. The founder of the unit has gone missing and the trail leads to another psychic soldier who has distorted the mission to serve his own ends

The movie is based on a book by Ron Johnson called "Men Who Stare at Goats ". There was also a tv documentary called "Crazy Rulers of the World ."

The book and TV series examines connections between paranormal military programs and psychological techniques being used for interrogation in the War on Terror.

The book also traces the evolution of these covert activities over the past three decades, and sees how they are alive today within US Homeland Security and post-war Iraq. Why have 100 de-bleated goats been secretly placed inside the Special Forces command center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina? The book and documentary explains all the movie is based on in this true life history of our military.

The movie looks at the funny human side of our marvelous determination, it will indeed be hilarious.

Enjoy the comical story protrayed as entertainment comming out in the movies Nov 6th.
